My trip to Lesotho, South Africa, 20-30 Oct 2003

Was talking to my boss last Fri, mentioned about this trip. Found some of the fotos and decided to post it here.

It was really an experience. Really eye opening. No regret going for the trip and I even get to see my sponsored child.

On the first day, our coach got struck in the mud after our Safari trip. Took us few hours before we can continue our journey. The weather that day was so cold, 6 degree. We have to get out of the coach so that they can try to get the coach out of the mud. It was so cold that Mum got freeze. I was so worried but luckily she was alright after everyone tried to make her warm. In the end, they let mum sit in the coach.

Then on the last day (4th) of work, the only guy volunteer had an accident while working. He was using this T shape thing (not sure what it is call) to dig the ground. It bounced back and hit his lip. His lip/mouth got a hole and was bleeding. They have to send him to the hospital to bandage. Luckily he was alright except having a white bandage on his lip.

Those memories! Here are some fotos to share with you. Enjoy!

The Brave Tin Soldier & Other Pieces, 23 June 2007

Went down around 4plus pm with Yvonne to help out on stuff. Finally, the event went smoothly and very well. Here are photos taken on that day.
Paintings of the title piece on display

Fantastic Quest for Orchestra (2005)
(awarded The University of Newcastle, Australia Music Lovers Club Prize for Composition)
This piece is written in a folk-like style and in remembrance of her dad. It also summarizes the adventures that she had during her stay in Australia.

Body, Mind, Soul (2006)
This is written based on an experience that she had when she was not feeling well. She was taking a nap when she saw her soul literally rising out of her body. Body, Mind, Soul is about this experience and what went through her mind during that process.

Waltz - Variations (2004)
This is the first piece that she had written during her studies in Newcastle, Australia. It is influenced by Jazz music and consists a theme and seven variations.

Tango. Dark (2004)
Tango. Dark is inspired by works of Chick Corea and Astor Piazzolla. It is intended to portray a sinister mood through a repetitive rhythmic pattern.

The Little Book of Tyra (2005)
This is written in celebration of the life and joy that her niece, Tyra has been bringing to the family.

The Brave Tin Soldier (2006)
She composed this music based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale.
